Biography

Lisa Tapert has worked in global public health for the last 15 years in a number of settings including university, foundation, non-governmental organization and private industry. Her efforts have included providing strategic advice on oncology access and HIV programs in emerging and developing countries. She has run multi-country programs throughout Africa and Asia in both developing and emerging countries, that focused on elimination of blinding trachoma and increasing access to medicines. She finds herself in settings that vary from rural villages to ministry of health and education to corporate board rooms and the World Health Organization. Her early work on the Rakai Project in Uganda set the stage for a career dedicated to improving access to health care. Her MPH in Population and Family Health comes from the Columbia University/Mailman School of Public Health and her BA from Oberlin College.
